Knee
August 2, 2021
Breust (knee) informed fans Monday via Twitter that he hasn't suffered any structural damage but some bone bruising means he has work to do before returning this season.
ANALYSIS
Breust hurt his knee in Round 20 after scoring three goals to help topple Brisbane. Given that there's still some damage to let heal, he'll need time before getting cleared to play again in 2021.

August 1, 2021
O'Meara scored one goal to go with 35 disposals (20 kicks, 15 handballs) and made 10 tackles during Sunday's 92-80 win over Brisbane in Round 20.
ANALYSIS
O'Meara was one of the stars of the contest as he topped 30 disposals for the first time in his last five games. With at least 92 points scored in his last three games, O'Meara has improved his performance with each passing week and has plenty to offer if he can keep things going in the final rounds of the season.

Wingard scored two goals and two behinds to go with 32 disposals (20 kicks, 12 handballs) in addition to making seven marks and seven tackles during Sunday's 92-80 win over Brisbane in Round 20.
ANALYSIS
Wingard returned from a hamstring injury in Round 19 and looks refreshed with two strong efforts in his last two games. If he's able to keep up his marking and tackling totals, Wingard tends to hover in the 20-disposal area and could easily be a valuable asset over the rest of the season.

MHawthorn Hawks
July 28, 2021
Morrison (hamstring) will be available for the Hawks' Round 20 match versus Brisbane.
ANALYSIS
Morrison was deemed close to a return last week but was ultimately held out of the contest. Fortunately, the extra week seems to have done the trick and he seems a likely candidate for inclusion in the Round 20 lineup, which would mark his first AFL action since mid-June.

DHawthorn Hawks

July 28, 2021
Day (ankle) will miss the remainder of the 2021 season.

FHawthorn Hawks
Back
July 28, 2021
Gunston (back) will miss the remainder of the 2021 season.
ANALYSIS

FHawthorn Hawks
July 27, 2021
Koschitzke signed a contract extension with Hawthorn through 2023.
ANALYSIS
Koschitzke has scored 22 goals and 18 behinds in 17 games, which are both respectable tallies in his first senior season. With a season-high five goals scored in one game against Adelaide back in April, he'll certainly have the ability to put up big numbers in the seasons to come.
Emerson Jeka

FHawthorn Hawks
July 27, 2021
Jeka signed a contract extension through the 2022 season with Hawthorn.
ANALYSIS

FHawthorn Hawks
July 24, 2021
O'Meara tabulated 24 disposals, eight tackles and clearances each, three marks and a single goal assist Saturday as Hawthorn fell to Adelaide 102-83 at Marvel Stadium.
ANALYSIS
O'Meara topped 20 touches for a second-straight week and registered his best tackle and clearances totals since Round 10 and Round 5, respectively, in Saturday's loss. HIs goal assist was also his second for the month of July and fifth of the year. The 27 year-old heads into Round 20 having topped 100 fantasy points only once since June 20, but still averaging 92.1 points a game in 2021. Supported by a clearance per game aggregate (6.27) ranked 16th-best in the AFL, O'Meara continues to find himself trailing only Tom Mitchell as the Hawks' leader in fantasy scoring.

ANALYSIS
According to ABC.net, Cousins was substituted out of the game in the fourth quarter and replaced by veteran Shaun Burgoyne. No word yet on the seriousness of injury. MHawthorn Hawks
July 24, 2021
Mitchell seized 29 disposals, nine tackles, five clearances, two marks and a single goal Saturday as Hawthorn fell to Adelaide 103-82 at Marvel Stadium.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell fell below 30 touches for the first time since Round 16 and matched his lowest mark total in seven appearances on Saturday. Still, he managed to pace Hawthorn in tackles with a season-high nine and score a goal in back-to-back games for just the second time this year in the loss. The 28 year-old midfielder now extends a streak of 100-point fantasy appearances to seven and heads into the month of August rated the league's seventh-most lucrative option for selection at his respective position.
Shaun Burgoyne

FHawthorn Hawks
Coach's Decision
July 22, 2021
Burgoyne has been managed for Round 19 against Adelaide.
ANALYSIS
Burgoyne gets a rest every few weeks as he just hit his 400th AFL game played and doesn't always have enough in the take to play every week. His best game of the season came in Rounds 18 with nine tackles made against Melbourne.
Jonathon Ceglar
Off injury list
RHawthorn Hawks
July 20, 2021
Ceglar (hip) no longer appears on his club's injury list ahead of Round 19 against Adelaide.
ANALYSIS
Ceglar missed Round 18 with a hip issue but should be on the field if no other news emerges. As the second ruck to Ben McEvoy, Ceglar holds reasonable if unspectacular value.
Chad Wingard
On track to play
MHawthorn Hawks
July 20, 2021
Wingard (hamstring) is expected to be available in Round 19 against Adelaide.
ANALYSIS
Wingard has yet to play in July but should be back against the Crows. Though he's seldom played at his best this season, Wingard did score over 100 fantasy points in each of the first two games of 2021.
Harry Morrison
Nearing return
MHawthorn Hawks
Hamstring
July 20, 2021
Morrison (hamstring) is listed as a test for Round 19 against Adelaide.
ANALYSIS
Morrison hasn't played in over a month and should return if he can train well throughout the week. With an average of 17.1 disposals per game, Morrison is a solid contributor but doesn't reach big numbers in fantasy.
Jack Scrimshaw
Set to return
DHawthorn Hawks
July 20, 2021
Scrimshaw is expected to be available in Round 19 against Adelaide.
ANALYSIS
Scrimshaw missed Round 18 with a concussion but he seems to have passed an fitness tests and cleared the necessary protocols to be able to play. Though not as consistent, Scrimshaw has scored at least 100 fantasy points on three occasions this season.
Blake Hardwick
Available again
DHawthorn Hawks
July 20, 2021
Hardwick (hamstring tightness) has been declared available for Round 19 against Adelaide.
ANALYSIS
Hardwick missed the last two weeks with muscular issues but should be fully fit against the Crows. With over 20 disposals in two of his last three games, Hardwick could hold decent value at cheaper price.
Luke Breust
Game-high three goals in draw
MHawthorn Hawks
July 17, 2021
Bruest hauled in 14 disposals, five tackles, three goals and marks each, two goal assists and a lone behind Saturday as Hawthorn drew Melbourne 79-79 at MCG.
ANALYSIS
Bruest enjoyed a flurry of activity in Saturday's draw and closed out the match having tied or set season-highs for majors (his three also lead all players), goal assists, inside 50s (5) and fantasy score (86). The 30 year-old heads into the latter of half of July currently ranked the league's No. 18 for goals (18) but averaging just 61.8 fantasy points a game through 17 appearances, 110th-best among league forwards.

Best fantasy numbers of 2021
MHawthorn Hawks
July 17, 2021
Phillips registered 25 disposals, five marks, three tackles and a single goal and clearance each Saturday as Hawthorn drew Melbourne 79-79 at MCG.
ANALYSIS
Phillips' 13 kicks and a season-high tying 12 handballs yielded his best disposals numbers of the year and the 25 year-old accounted for his eighth major of 2021 in Saturday's draw of Melbourne. This, paired with the midfielder / forward's third-highest mark aggregate of the year, fetched Phillips his top fantasy output (98 points) of Hawthorn's current campaign, but sees him coming out of Round 18 nevertheless averaging a forgettable 73.2 points an outing.
Tom Mitchell
Season-high 144 points in draw
MHawthorn Hawks
July 17, 2021
Mitchell pulled in 39 disposals, six clearances, marks and tackles each, one goal and a single behind Saturday as Hawthorn drew Melbourne 79-79 at MCG.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell proved a force to be reckoned on Saturday, with a season-high for kicks (22) and rebound 50s (6) pairing with a team-leading six marks to help net the 28 year-old his best fantasy numbers of 2021 (144 points). The league leader in total handballs (343) and handballs (20.18) and disposals (34.41) per game has now produced no less than 108 fantasy points in every showing made since June 11 and heads into a Round 19 match-up with Brisbane currently ranked fifth in total fantasy score (1923 points) on the year.
Jonathon Ceglar
Out with hip injury
RHawthorn Hawks
Hip
July 15, 2021
Ceglar will miss Round 18 against Melbourne due to a hip injury.
ANALYSIS
Ceglar serves as a midfielder and second ruck with Ben McEvoy, but he won't be able to fill that role after picking up a knock. It's unclear how long this will keep him out just yet.
Blake Hardwick
Listed as test
DHawthorn Hawks
Hamstring
July 13, 2021
Hardwick (hamstring) is listed as a test for Round 18 against Melbourne.
ANALYSIS
Hardwick missed Round 17 against Fremantle with a hamstring issue but shouldn't be far off from returning. His average of 21.1 disposals will be needed with plenty of other players picking up injuries at the moment.
Jack Scrimshaw
Out with concussion
DHawthorn Hawks
Concussion
July 13, 2021
Scrimshaw suffered a concussion and will be out for Round 18 against Melbourne, according to Physical Performance Manager Luke Boyd.
ANALYSIS
Scrimshaw will have to miss at least 12 days as he goes through the league's mandatory protocols, so he should be out one game at the least. Other injuries for Hawthorn mean plenty of changes may come while Scrimshaw is out.
