July 6, 2021
Reid (calf) is considered a test to return in Round 17 against the Western Bulldogs, according to Martin Pegan of AFL.com.
ANALYSIS
Reid hasn't played since the end of April due to a torn calf and should be close to returning. When he's active as a ruck, Reid can offer decent value, though his highest score of the season is only 94 points.

April 27, 2021
Reid is expected to miss a "couple of weeks" with a calf injury, according to the Sydney medical report.
ANALYSIS
Reid hasn't had much to say for himself in terms of his production as the backup ruck to Tom Hickey. With Hickey (knee) also out, someone new will be needed at ruck for the next couple of rounds.
Bags a double in loss
FSydney Swans
August 29, 2020
Reid had seven disposals (three kicks, four handballs), four marks, two goals and one tackle in Saturday's 73-47 loss to Port Adelaide.
ANALYSIS
Having kicked only one goal all season prior to Saturday's loss, Reid managed a pair of majors in the 26 point loss. He has now played in six of the past seven games for the Swans and is beginning to look better with each performance. With that being said, his statistical production is not typically strong enough to warrant a roster spot in most instances.
Returns in scratch match

July 14, 2020
Reid (calf) got in some limited minutes during a scratch match Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Reid still has to ramp up his activity in the matches before he would be considered for selection again, but he's at least on the right path and past the calf issue that kept him out for the early part of 2020.
Could play Sunday

July 7, 2020
Reid (calf) is expected to be available for selection Sunday against Richmond, according to Executive GM of Football Charlie Gardiner."Sam (Reid) is progressing well and is now back into full training. He will train with the squad again this week and is getting closer (to a return) but we just have to be mindful about the interrupted preparation he has had.We want to make sure that when he returns, he stays fit and healthy so we will assess him this week, but he could be another week away."
ANALYSIS
Reid isn't guaranteed to play in Round Six, though if he makes it through the next week fully healthy it wouldn't be surprising to see him on the field in Round Seven against Gold Coast.
