Want a Crack at the Experts in the Bloomberg League?

As you may have already heard, Bloomberg Sports has partnered up with MLB.com to provide a new level of analytics to fantasy owners and major league teams beginning this season. Along with the paid draft prep and in-season tools they're providing, Bloomberg is currently assembling a 12-team mixed league (full press release) that will give six fans an opportunity to compete with six industry experts including MLB Network's Harold Reynolds, Baseball HQ's Ron Shandler, USA Today's Steve Gardner, Creative Sports' Lawr Michaels and KFFL's Tim Heaney. I am honored to be representing RotoWire in this draft, which will take place on Monday Mar. 15th. Want a chance to compete against us?

From the press release:

The six additional fantasy players in the league will be selected from a pool of nominees open to anyone at any level who loves the game and has experience playing fantasy baseball. Nominations can now be sent to BloombergChallenge@bloombergsports.com from now through Wednesday, March 10th. The nomination should include a brief paragraph on why the person should be a candidate. The six selected will be notified via email prior to the Experts League Draft, which will take place on Monday March 15 at 8:30 p.m. Those selected will be given complimentary access to all the BLOOMBERG SPORTS tools for the season.

Most of us here at RotoWire play in a 4-6 baseball leagues (or double that if you're Jeff Erickson) each season, but I haven't played in any like this one. Further, the quality of the competition will be very high, which should make things very interesting on draft day with such a shallow player pool. The other leagues I'm playing in this season are: (2) 12-team NL-only leagues, our 18-team mixed staff keeper league, a 24-team mixed Score Sheet League and the 14-team (mixed) WCOFB main event, so this will put me in a more commonly-sized league that should be more relatable for a larger group of our readers.

Check back throughout the season for updates and insight, and get that application in ASAP!
