Head coach Mike Boynton confirmed that Thompson will miss the remainder of the 2023-24 season following surgery to repair a torn labrum, McClain Baxley of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Thompson will miss the rest of his senior season after suffering a torn labrum against Kansas. The six-foot-six guard averaged 11.6 points per game for Oklahoma State this season. The loss of Thompson will be tough to overcome for the Cowboys, with fellow guard Quion Williams likely to be given a larger role moving forward. Thompson will have the chance to return to Stillwater next season for his final year of eligibility should he choose to.
