Knighton announced Friday that he will be joining Auburn as a graduate transfer for next season, Keith Niebuhr of 247sports.com reports.

Knighton didn't wait long to commit to the Tigers after head coach Bryan Harsin extended an offer to him just two days ago. Knighten was a four-year starting safety at Southeast Missouri State who mentioned he chose Auburn due to the school's closeness to his family. The 6-0 corner is a pretty talented secondary player who has the versatility to play both safety and nickel cornerback. In total, Knighton tallied 262 tackles, 23 pass breakups, six interceptions and four tackles for a loss. He will essentially be the replacement for Chris Thompson who transferred over to USC on Thursday.
