2023 Fantasy Outlook
Tryon-Shoyinka took a step forward in his sophomore 2022 campaign, posting a career-high 40 tackles and matching his rookie-season total of four sacks. The athletic linebacker also boosted his defensive snap total from 562 to 806 last year, and the valuable experience he gained with the additional reps should be beneficial as he approaches what could be a breakout in 2023. Tryon-Shoyinka has the benefit of working alongside the same group of talented linebackers - Lavonte David, Devin White and Shaquil Barrett - which may lead to his fair share of 1-on-1 matchups. RANKS
Solid but unspectacular season
Tryon-Shoyinka recorded 45 tackles (28 solo), including 5.0 sacks, a pass defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery across 17 regular-season games in 2023. He added four stops (two solo) in two postseason contests.
ANALYSIS
The 2021 first-round pick did set new personal bests in tackles and sacks while forcing and recording the first turnovers of his career. However, Tryon-Shoyinka still struggled with consistency in terms of getting to the quarterback, recording only two sacks after Week 6 despite remaining healthy throughout the campaign. Tryon-Shoyinka also posted four or fewer tackles in 18 of 19 total games, and he saw third-round rookie YaYa Diaby outperform him and eventually take over the starting left outside linebacker role. Tryon-Shoyinka has one year remaining on his rookie contract, and considering his experience in Todd Bowles' defensive system, he should play a solid rotational role, at minimum, in 2024.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Seems headed for starting role
With Jason Pierre-Paul likely to leave in free agency, per Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Tryon-Shoyinka figures to move into the starting lineup for the Buccaneers in 2022.
ANALYSIS
The 32nd overall pick in the 2021 draft, Tryon-Shoyinka saw only a rotational role on a loaded Tampa Bay defense as a rookie but still recorded four sacks in 17 games. With Pierre-Paul seemingly on his way out, Tryon-Shoyinka would be next in line to start at outside linebacker, and he could put up big numbers coming off the edge opposite Shaquil Barrett next season.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
The 32nd overall pick in this year's draft, Tryon's destination arguably is both a blessing and a curse with respect to his rookie season. On the one hand, the Washington product couldn't ask for a better set of mentors than Lavonte David, Jason Pierre-Paul, Devin White and Shaquil Barrett. At the same time, the presence of that quartet likely will keep Tyron from seeing the field in base packages in the fall, absent injury. Tryon opted out of last season, but he racked up eight sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss in 13 games as a sophomore in 2019. He appears to have the raw talent to develop into an IDP asset, but his situation isn't ripe for immediate production.
