Timberwolves Top Rockets, 113-106
The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Houston Rockets, 113-106, at Target Center on Tuesday night.

The Rockets (38-37) came out looking like the more defensively accomplished team between them and their superior opponent, as Houston held a 23-16 lead over the Timberwolves (52-23) after one. However, Minnesota outscored the visitors by a 38-22 margin in the second quarter to take a nine-point advantage into halftime, and after matching Ime Udoka's squad point for point in the third, the hosts ultimately utilized a 12-6 run over the final 1:35 to pull away after the Rockets had closed to within one.

Jalen Green led the Rockets with 26 points, complementing them with six assists and five rebounds. Fred VanVleet totaled 22 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals. Jabari Smith Jr. collected 18 points, eight boards and three assists. Cam Whitmore netted 14 points.

Naz Reid led the Timberwolves with 25 points, supplementing them with six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block. Anthony Edwards registered 21 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Mike Conley furnished 14 points, six assists, two rebounds and three steals. Kyle Anderson finished with 13 points, nine assists, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Rudy Gobert generated a 12-point, 14-rebound double-double that included two blocks. Jordan McLaughlin delivered 11 points, seven assists and one rebound.

The Rockets return home to face the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night, while the Rockets remain home and host the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.
