Links up with Packers
Owens, who recorded 125 tackles as a starter for Texans last season, signed a one-year deal with the Packers on Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Owens blossomed into a 17-game starter in 2022 and also produced four defensed passes and a sack in addition to the gaudy tackle numbers. The Missouri Western product could turn out to be quite a bargain if he garners a starting job in a Packers secondary that's in transition heading into the season.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Owens went from undrafted depth player to impact defender last year in Houston, claiming a starting role and erupting for 125 tackles in 17 games as part of a defense that was on the field more than any other in 2022. The 27-year-old couldn't parlay his breakout campaign into a big payday, however, settling for a one-year prove-it deal with the Packers. He'll fill the strong safety role next to Darnell Savage in defensive coordinator Joe Barry's scheme and look to demonstrate that the aggression he played with last year is here to stay.
